Intimacy Coordinator
The job of an intimacy coordinator is to facilitate clear communication between the director’s vision and the performers’ personal boundaries, creating a safe plan for scenes involving simulated sex, sexual violence, nudity, kissing and other intimacy in film, television and photography.
Recommended Skills for working as an Intimacy Coordinator:
Good knowledge of sexual and workplace health and safety guidelines
Ability to work closely with talent
Strong communications and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail
A team player
Understanding of Consent
Experience with movement and choreography
Knowledge of modesty garments, barriers and other appropriate tools and resources
A combination of demonstrated skills such as diplomacy, knowledge of riders, contracts, union agreements and guidelines, harassment prevention and resources and closed set protocols.

Implements proper protocols for scenes involving intimacy, simulated sex, nudity or high emotional content. Liaises between production and performers. Coaches movement for scenes with intimacy, simulated sex and/nudity and advocates for Performers.
Minimum Qualifications for working as an Intimacy Coordinator:
Sexual education advocacy courses and background
Trauma informed training
ACTRA Membership (preferred)
